Attendance Policy:Every absence in choir hurts all of us – your absence slows us down.  Points will be taken off
your participation grade for absences.  You may, however, make-up those points by coming in
and serving twenty minutes within two days of the absence.  For every absence beyond six, you will not be allowed to make up your participation grade, quizzes, etc.  Some rare exceptions might include funeral and medical with doctor’s note.  It is VERY IMPORTANT to be to Chambers EVERY DAYChoir Dress Code:      Modesty & cleanliness are VERY IMPORTANT at all times -- including modest swimsuits.

 

 

 

Grading Procedure:   20% Class Focus/Work Ethic
20% Class Attendance (approx 20 pts./day; points deducted for late & tardy)
20% Assignments
20% Events -- Attendance and high level of performance at Chamber Singer events
20% Team Player -- 1) Constant effort to improve team performance individually and
willingness/enthusiasm to help others do the same -- going out of your way to
build the team (You don't have to be a great singer to be a GREAT team player);
Friendliness towards and supportiveness of all members of the team  
2) Refusal to accept mediocrity
3) Being "Coachable" - responds in a positive manner to the coach & applies instruction given by the coach


 


 

 

 



 

 

Prerequisite:               Audition/Instructor Approval
Course Objectives:     Chamber Singers perform a wide variety of music in concerts, district events,
festivals, and tours.  Vocal skills, sight singing, stage presence, ear training, and
team work are emphasized. 
Materials:                   Performance outfits (formals, polos, sweatshirts, black slacks, shoes & socks)
folder, and pencil for class work. 
Fee:                             Tour costs, travel fee, district music fee ($11), & other Chamber Singer expenses.
Make-Up Policy:         Performances and all events are required.  If a student has an ‘excused’ absence from school or an event, a make-up assignment may be given.  No make-up allowed if a student is unexcused or truant.
Tardy Policy:              Points will be taken off your attendance grade for tardies.  You may, however, make up those points by coming in and serving twenty minutes within two days of the tardyThere will be no make-up for tardies after the 3rd tardy.  On the 3rd tardy, the student will be given a work assignment from the teacher.  On the 4th tardy, the student’s parents will be called.  On the 5th tardy, a referral is made to the administration and an additional work assignment may be given.
