Class Room Rules
- Be on time!!! A very large percentage of your grade comes from simply being here and participating. If you’re late expect detention. If more than 5 minutes late it’s an absence.
- Come prepared to class. Keep a notebook and SAVE everything.
- If you’re absent it’s your responsibility to come to me for missing work. Late work will not be accepted, or given 5 days after absence.
- No electronic devices; head phones, Ipods etc. Keep cell phones off and put away!
- Be respectful!!!
Grading
The grading scale is traditional. 90-100=A 80-89=B etc.
Everyone should pass career pathways. Your grade will basically be determined by success in 3 areas.
- Projects
There are three, or four major projects worth big points, including your final project and group work. These will be explained in full during class.
- Attendance
Five participation points are given for being here and participating each day. If absent, these points can be made up my hand writing a 1 page research paper on the career of your choice.
- Small assignments
Many small tasks are completed, and graded on a daily basis. Although they may be worth only a few points it’s very important to stay on top of them as they quickly add up. Examples are bookwork, quizzes, and career research papers.
Note
Career Pathways is a required class for graduation. You must pass at some point, so why not make it the first time? Come prepared to learn, be respectful, and it should be an interesting and positive experience.
Over the course of the tri students can expect to learn a lot about themselves. What sort of personality do you have? Students will research many careers, learn to write effective resumes, fill out job applications, and interview for employment.
