  • Attendance is expected:  Students will follow school policies in terms of tardies and absences.  Admit slips will be required after an absence. All tardies will be given 20 minutes of detention time to be served in the after school detention room.
  • Staying on schedule is student’s responsibility Any late work will be accepted up to one week after the due date.  This rule only applies if the student has 6 or fewer absences as explained in the agenda. You are expected to attend Encore until you are on schedule.
  • Hall passes:  You will be allowed three passes in your student agenda to leave the classroom.  If you loan your agenda that is one of your passes.
  • Behavior: Respect yourself and others.  Be prepared--bring required materials to class.  When you enter the classroom, you are expected to sit down, log into your account and begin the assignment on the board. Please remain in your seat unless otherwise instructed.  Keep classroom and instructional materials neat, clean and in their proper order. Listen attentively.  Use appropriate language.
  •  Computer User Forms: First trimester students have five days after entering the class to turn in the signed form.  After five days accounts will be locked until the completed form and this syllabus are returned. Second and third trimester students will be expected to have signed their user forms prior to the first day of class.  All students are given a user form at the beginning of the year.
  •  Computers: Do not change the display (this includes screensavers, colors, background, etc.) or any other setting on the computer.  Because of the expense of the equipment in the labs, eating or drinking anything in labs is prohibited.  Games or use of any type of text messaging on school computers is also prohibited.  Internet use must be kept only to required class assignments.  Violations of any of the above will be subject to three hours detention and/or loss of computer privileges and/or discipline by the school administrator.   If you feel you cannot comply with this, please see me so we can make satisfactory arrangements.
  • Electronic devices: Any personal electronic devices used or seen in class will be confiscated and will only be returned by Mr. Carter.  (Turn your cell phones off, not just on silent or vibrate!)
  •  Cheating Policy: Students are expected to uphold the school’s standard of conduct relating to academic honesty. Students assume full responsibility for the content and integrity of the academic work they submit. The guiding principle of academic integrity shall be that a student's submitted work, examinations, reports, and projects must be that of the student's own work. Students shall be guilty of violating the honor code if they: represent the work of others as their own, use or obtain unauthorized assistance in any academic work, give unauthorized assistance to other students, modify, without instructor approval, an examination, paper, record, or report for the purpose of obtaining additional credit, misrepresent the content of submitted work.
